About me
Emmanuel Vivenot's body of work boils down to his documentary and photojournalist background, combined with an emotional, pictural approach.
Each project is a another brick in the wall, as Vivenot sees the world that surrounds us like a disco ball with an infinity of different faces.
This vision, embracing what appears to be contradictive but actually isn't, disturbingly challenges mainstream thinking and morals by stating that each face of our world is tied to its opposite : love couldn't exist without war and most people are disgusted by that.
The common part of these series dwells in Vivenot's ability to capture the trivial aspects that are often otherwise overlooked or glamorized (as when it comes to nudity or warfare, for example). Fragility, vulnerability , even in their most unexpected forms.
Whether it is military life, music, road life or else : the viewer's visual journey is guided by someone who has been one of them, and who isn't an impartial third party anymore. These bodies of work aren't designed with politics in mind and you won't find your opinion in them. You'll have to make it yourself.
